UDP on TI 6xxx DSP

Started by gautamsridhar September 28, 2005
Hi,

Does any one have any experience with porting/implementing UDP stack on
TI 6xxx DSP. I am looking for MIPS, data and program memory numbers.
Any pointers would be much appreciated.

Thanks, Gautam

Hi Gautam:

I haven't heard of anyone just isolating the "UDP" protocol by itself -
usually you get (and want) the entire host set of the TCP/IP suite.

I have ported over Precise RTCS, which is a third-party TCP/IP suite, that
has been targeted for DSP chips like the C6000 series - I ported it to a
C6711, C6713 board. Now, you can configure some of the feature set so that
you can make it slimmer, if you want.

It's been a few years since I did that, and Precise I believe is now part of
ARC (http://www.arc.com). Here's the product brochure on RTCS:

http://www.metrowerks.com/pdf/precise_rtcs.pdf

Alternatively, I suppose someone else may have ported the Berkeley TCP/IP
stack over.

Good luck,
George

Hi,

there is LWIP which contains udp afaik. I have ported this on a C6713
and it works for me, but I do not use udp.
There is a list here:

Gustl:

lwIP looks very interesting. The savanah.nongnu.org web site seems to be
unresponsive, but the following seems to work:

Thanks,
George

I've ported uIP to a C5509. Additional information can be found at: http://www.sics.se/~adam/uip/
