Hello People! Im new on C6711DSK and Im
having some problems with the board. The main problem is that on Configure C6X11
DSK appears that "PORT address 0x378 and SPP mode are select" and "Parallel port
must be configured in your BIOS". But my bios have only the Normal, EPP, ECP and
ECP+EPP modes. Ive tested all of them and all have failed. Does anybody can
help me?

Both EPP and EPP+ECP modes should be Ok. If not, then give the type of PC
/ motherboard you have. I've run into an Intel (Gateway) motherboad and
Dell laptop in last few years that had bugs where EPP mode could not be
enabled.

Hi Jeff!
Ive just seen the type of my motherboard and its an Asus board. Ive
noticed also that before Ive opened the CCS, two tests have passed, but,
when Ive opened it, the follow message have appears: C6x11 DSK (TI)/CPU_1:
The Startup Gel file was specified in the setup program for this processor,
and will be used instead of the one specified on the command line. Do you
know what it means? After this, if I test the ports, everyone fails. But if
I click in GEL, Check DSK on the CCS, it appears that Target is Okay. I
really not understanding what is happening....

If you can get into CCS, then you don't have a parallel port or BIOS issue.
What is
the name of the .gel file in your CCS Setup program? There are 2 .gel files
that
I've seen used before with DSK C6711:
-dsk6xinit.gel
-DSKC6211_C711.gel
One of these should be entered in the last tab of the CCS Setup dialog box.

Are you trying to test the ports with CCS up?? you

Hello Mike,
1. If I configure the board without the CCS opened, only a DOS screen
appears and disappears quickly. After, if I test the ports, the screen on
the file attached appears.
2. Here is the contents of the file ccBrd0.dat:
3. The version of CCS Im using is 2.1.
4. The leds dont turn on when I perform "Check DSK". Only
"target is OK"
appears, with Switches: 2 REvision:3

up. Like Jeff said, if it comes up you do not need to
worry about it.
