Reg:RAW Mode+DM642(Please Urgent)

Started by venkat arvapalli December 17, 2007
Hi All,
I am operating the video port in 8 bit RAW capture mode on DM642. I have used TW2816 Techwell video decoder which is interfaced to video port of DM642. I was able to capture the video, but the video is not synchronized this is due to the lack of sync signals from TW2816. So i have pulled the CAPEN signal as high(VPCTL0 is connected to VCC), so the video port captures the data contionously. Then I have collectd the partial data of current frame(from the start of frame)fromtcurrent capture, and i have collected the remaining data that belongs to current frame from next capture instant. I have padded the both data , but i am not able to see full NTSC frame. I found some loss of active video.

The spru629f pdf sec 3.7 says that The CAPEN signal must go inactive for a minimum of two VPCLK cycles after the pixel count has expired. Keeping the CAPEN signal active after the pixel count expires may cause a loss of pixels; therefore, it is not recommended to permanently enable the CAPEN
signal during raw data capture mode.

Is Video port able to capture the data contionusly after pixel count expires with out loss of active video( CAPEN signal always high)?if not, where loss of active pixels will happen(i.e is video port not able to capture atleast minimum of two VP clock cycles after pixel count expires)?

please give your suggestions

Thanks and Regards
Venki
