Could anyone suggest me if the is PCI board that acts as CRO. I
believe such a product should of low cost. Is there one which is less
than US$200

What's "CRO"? Oscilloscope, maybe? Jerry -- Engineering is the art of making what you want from things you can get.
ya, i need a pc oscilloscope within $200.

What bandwidth? What sort of synch capability? Some of the Texas Instruments DSK boards come with a rudimentary audio oscilloscope demo. By the way, the "CR" in your context stands for "cathode ray". Why do you specify that technology? tnx jerry for ur interest. i would require an oscilloscope that could
deal with signals upto 100MHz. my main concern is cost. By CRO I meant
oscilloscope only and nothing related to cathode ray. it was because,
all the oscilloscopes so far we have used in our lab have been CRO's
only. we are used to it so much that CRO means oscilloscope for us. :)

I don't off hand know any product with that bandwidth. An ADC to collect samples at more that 200 MHz isn't likely to be found on a cheap board. For more modest frequencies, check out http://gscope.sourceforge.net/ It is a library that I believe can work with your sound card. If you find a fast sampler you can connect via FireWire, USB, PCI, or other fast connection, it will work with that too. Ur abrvns are Mr.ies 2 me. Pls spell out ur wrds 4 me. See "Did u ..." in http://users.erols.com/jyavins/procfaq.htm. Ya, I understand it is really difficult to find such a board after
much search. So I have decided to make my own PCI board which it seems
wouldnt cost more than $100. I have found a TI ADC that gives me a
rate of 80 Msps and could accept frequencies upto 1000 GHz. I will
post the results in this group once I finish designing it. I will have
much use of the software from the site you mentioned and also from
www.gnuradio.org. thanks
