I will do my best to make that one; I hope to be in the States at that time, so if I can schedule things correctly... we'll see. :-) Ciao, Peter K. -- Peter J. To each of you, please don't assume that all the other comp.dsp-ers know everything that you know. We can assure you that they do not. It's certain that there is some aspect of DSP that you can teach the rest of us. With that thought in mind, please consider making a presentation. Our philosophy and request for presentations are described at: http://www.danvillesignal.com/index.php?id=compdsp_presenters If you review the list of possible presentation topics there, you'll see that no one is expecting lectures on super-advanced research or highly mathematical subjects. We're merely looking for presentation topics that help us expand our understanding of the practical world of DSP. It certainly wouldn't hurt your resume any to have it state that you presented a paper at this conference. And please know that a presentation can be as short as a 15-minute lecture. This conference, while friendly in atmosphere, will still be a formal technical conference. There we can make personal contacts with other folk in the DSP business and learn the details of some DSP topics, through presentations, with which we're unfamiliar. Many companies encourage their employees to make technical presentations at conferences; and for the DSP consultants here, attending this conference certainly qualifies as a business expense. I've been communicating with some of you guys for years now, so it will be fun to finally meet you in person. [-Rick-]

GREAT idea Al! This is exactly what it took for this to get off the ground. --Randy Al Clark <dsp@danvillesignal.com> writes:> Who says you can't teach an old dog a new DSP trick? > > --- Announcing the 2004 Comp.DSP Conference this summer in Cannon Falls, > Minnesota. > > We've discussed this idea before - now it's a reality! Hey, what do you have agains cyclotomic polynomials in tight Gabor frames :0 ? Seriously, I would have a perfect topic for a presentation, you have heard me ranting about it before: an OO/block-diagram based DSP software development and operating system for arbitrary multi-processor hardwares - just getting off the ground now. Unfortunately, by then my wife will look like she swallowed a basketball, and money will be more tight than ever. Perhaps next year? Wish you lots of fun! Andor
