n the case of an example, somebody with a sense could design a bicycle with square wheels, but it wouldn't be a sensible bicycle.

You make up fairy examples. If the signal frequency can change at the rate of 6 Hz/sec, the sidebands will cause problems. What technology is as poor as you choose to suppose? For example, i know that doppler spread of ionospheric can be about 3Hz.

Please, Jerry, if you must change your .sig file and use a quote, (I very much prefer your usual .sig), use the right words. Here is what Alexander Pope actually said.....
