Hello,

i looking for user who have already use the "TMS320C6713 DSP Starter
Kit". I am trying to estimate this developpement tool.

Does anyone have trouble using the latest version of DSP/BIOS on 6713
? Is it a robust tool ? Is DSP/BIOS source code available (in order to
be able to correct some problem) ?

I also want to have feedback about the C++ Code composer studio
compiler. Is this a good compiler ?

Is there a list of know bugs about the Code Composer studio IDE,
compiler, or signal processing libraries ?

Hi,

I've used the 6713 dsp starter kit a little bit.  The project it was for was
to develop an audio mixer using the inputs and outputs of the AIC23 codec.
My development made use of MATLAB and simulink tools (real time workshop for
code generation).  In terms of performance, I must say that the kit is
extremely good.  I've tried performing filtering algorithms and other dsp
related stuff and the processor was more than adequate for all the scenarios
that i attempted.  Code Composer is a pretty good compiler.  i did most of
my programming in C but as far as using it, it was not very difficult to get
accustomed to it.  The help has a lot of content and is actually useful.
DSP/BIOS is another great tool.  It allows you to configure almost anything
on the board through a gui.  I didn't get into using the threading features
of it but what i did look at was very interesting.

I'm not sure how useful this info was, but i wanted to ask what kind of
project were you planning to use the board for?

Oh yeah, as for bugs, i don't really know of any, nor have i encountered any
while i was using it.

Think for all these informations.

For the moment, i ask me about using C or C++ inside my project. I
prefer use C++ because of this ability to product more easly
understanding code (when code is well rigth of course). But i know
that some earlier version of Code Composer Studio C++ compiler was
bugged.

Is someone already use C++ with code composer studio ?
