I thought that was a WV joke. Of course, these days the difference between MI and OH is like the difference between really sucks and just sucks. But having been in Buffalo for a few years before that I don't even know where to put buffalo in a relative ranking (except they are the absolute junk food capitol of the world and I say that as a good thing). But, given that the Great Lakes is in my blood, I'll take sucks.

Hi Brent, I grew up in Akron Ohio. We used to say, "Akron, ... the capital of West Virginia." [-Rick-]

Thumbs up for a nice video Eric. It shows you have some heart. Looks like you have a Strat in the background. I wouldn't mind listening to what you can with it. Merry Christmas to all!

Hi Clay, Sadly, they are. Also Chrissie Hynde (song writer, lead vocals, rhythm guitar) of The Pretenders is from Akron. It's one of Chrissie's songs that Rush Limbaugh uses as his theme music at the beginning of his radio broadcasts. I thought Jeffrey Dahmer (one of our country's most horrific serial killers) was born in Akron. But he only went to grade/middle/high school in Akron. Also from Akron are: * Lola Albright (good lookin' movie star in the 50's & 60's) * Dan Auerbach (Of The Black Keys) * William Boyett (TV star some years ago) * Patrick Carney (Of The Black Keys) * David Allan Coe (outlaw country singer) * John Dean (White House council for Pres. Nixon years) * Hugh Downs (TV personality many years ago) * James Ingram (soul musician) * LeBron James (I think he plays basketball, or something) * Jim Jarmusch (independent filmmaker) * Melina Kanakaredes (foxy female TV star) * Jani Lane (of Warrant) * Liam Lynch (musician, puppeteer, writer, and director) * Vaughn Monroe (ol' time singer. Only Jerry Avins and I remember Vaughn Monroe) * Ruby Nash (Of Ruby and the Romantics-"Our Day Will Come") * Tim 'Ripper' Owens (Of Judas Priest) * Ara Parseghian (Notre Dame football coach) * Robert Quine (guitarist) * W. V. Quine (American philosopher and logician) * Judith Resnik (Gorgeous electrical engineer, America's 2nd female astronaut. She didn't survive the Space shuttle disaster of 1986.) * Butch Reynolds (Olympic sprinter) * Thurman Munson (catcher for the NY Yankees) * Richard Smalley (Nobel Prize winner in Chemistry for discovering "buckyballs") * Neal Smith (drummer for Alice Cooper) * Rachel Sweet (singer) * Nate Thurmond (pro basketball player) * Jesse White (TV and movie actor in the 50's & 60's. Was the first Maytag Repairman waiting for the phone to ring.) You can tell---today's my day off. [-Rick-]

Wow, Akron is definitely better than Toledo. I had always ranked Toledo a little higher, but I have changed my mind. The Klinger guy from MASH is from Toledo, but Lebron James definitely takes Klinger out.
