in lab view i need to design a iir filter with displaying co efficients,, but the thing is i have designed,, but i am not getting how to display the coeffients only in integer format,, kindly help me...

Describe your VI in English, or post a picture of it on some free upload site (i.e. flikr), or if you have a web site that you can post to, post it there. If a vi is really text "under the hood" and its not too long, you could open the file in a text editor and paste it to the message. -- http://www.wescottdesign.com

Have you asked on a LabView support forum? If that isn't helping, have you experimented with making a VI that does nothing but display numbers? 99 times out of 100, axing things down to the one problem and attacking just that will bring you more joy than trying to fix the underpinnings of something complex. -- http://www.wescottdesign.com

Once you know the coefficients, you can load them into your microprocessor in any convenient form, even hexadecimal or binary. You need to stop thinking in terms of magic incantations and actually understand the tools you work with. Jerry -- Engineering is the art of making what you want from things you can get.

Or do you want to start with an integer and display the effective coefficient, as scaled by your algorithm? Dig into the documentation for the numerical displays -- if you're lucky, you'll find out that there's some way to tell it how to format a number (if you can't tell by now, I'm not a Labview person -- I'm just trying to be helpful). If there's a way to format the number, then there will almost certainly be a way to suppress the trailing dot and zeros. -- Tim Wescott Wescott Design Services http://www.wescottdesign.com Do you need to implement control loops in software?
