There are two servers I used to use, and both sied on me at around the
same time. I don't think it's likely that yet another will work better
than getting to the root of my difficulty.

I believe that you used Teranews.  It died for a while, but seems to have 
resurrected itself.

I didn't see those. I switvhed to GG's old interface, which is (in my
view) horrible.. Consider this a test to see if it fixes the
threading.
