We are looking for a DSP (digital sound processing) engineer with a background in music production who is interested in building basic effects scripts/plugins (including varieties of compression, limiting, volume normalization, delay, reverb, and signal processing like like phasing and autotune) for our proprietary audio platform. We are in Brooklyn, but we are open to someone who wants to work remotely. This is a contract position to start, but could develop into a full- time position. We're a startup and it's an interesting, creative working environment. Broadcastr is a platform for location-based audio. Our free app (iPhone, Android) lets people easily create and share recordings on an interactive map. Users share oral histories, restaurant reviews, citizen journalism, walking tours, personal messages, funny anecdotes, tour diaries, and more. Each Broadcastr story is pinned to a GPS location. On the Web, users can access a digital archive of human memory and narrative; on the mobile app, users can take a walk while stories about their surroundings stream automatically into their headphones, like a museum tour of the whole world. Please email founders@broadcastr.com for more info.
