Bret Cahill is a troll, and to maintain a decent S/N ratio on comp.dsp, we need to stop engaging him.

As far as using maintaining SNR as a justification for anything on this group we gave that up long ago wrt VV. I guess Bret is filling in for him now. Eric Jacobsen Anchor Hill Communications www.anchorhill.com

I heard that he has started a company where he sells recycled JARTS to drop on stupidents heads from balconies and overpasses. The cool thing is that it has the latest in image processing to ensure that they correctly identify stupidents. I think he is calling them SMART JARTS.

I followed electronics groups for years and I can say from experience Bret will be persistent and any attempt to engage in a discussion will be a frustrating experience. Attempts at reason will be as effective as throwing marshmallows at a turtle. I would add that for anyone who can't resist, Bret's posts will always be cross posted to multiple unrelated groups. Trimming would seem prudent and may even help cut down on at least the cross group noise.

you know, i hadn't really wanted Vlad to exit, just to be a little nicer. and some of the people he picked on maybe deserved it and he never really picked on me (for which i am thankful). i compare Bret Cahill more to someone like the old E.Bob Tisdale. i can't remember who the other bombastic know-nothings were. -- r b-j rbj@audioimagination.com "Imagination is more important than knowledge."

I do not even want to directly reference the gaseous legume's name... Vladimir often did have solid positive contributions, when he wasn't trying to net-cop honest beginners away from the group. -- My liberal friends think I'm a conservative kook. I think many here would agree with it. Still, it doesn't matter how honored a guest may be at a party all anybody is going to remember is that they wouldn't stop crapping in the punch bowl. Eric Jacobsen Anchor Hill Communications www.anchorhill.com
