soft decision decoding of Reed-Solomon

Started by Wojciech Lach October 27, 2003
Hi,
I work out a method soft decision decoding of Reed-Solomon codes.
Somebody is known on this method or has some information on this theme?
I will very grateful for every help.

There is a number of technologies suitable for the soft decision decoding of the cyclic codes. Basically there are two main strategies: 1. Trellis search algorithms (Viterbi, Fano, stack decoder, turbo, etc.) 2. Decoding with erasures and the proximity search algorithms (Forney, etc.). Literature: 1. Schlegel. "Trellis Coding" 2.
