Ideas for DSP project

Hello!, I'm looking for ideas to make a dsp project for an undergraduate
course in the university, it should be made in about a month, it could be
something like an echo canceller, noise canceller, vocoder, audio
equalization, or could be also something like digital control of the speed
of a DC engine using a dsp, I cannot use this ideas to make my project
because they had been made in previous years
Thanks in advance

make a high quality reverb unit ... wrap it up in a VST plugin.

Oh, a guitar/voice effects unit would be a very popular project I'm
sure.

There hasn't been much innovation in this field, since the 70s and I
can think of quite a few things that one could do...

Off topic, but I thought I'd mention that Yamaha recently came out with a
guitar processor that claims to be innovative.  It uses physical modeling
techniques:
"The Yamaha AG Stomp is the world's first acoustic guitar preamp to
incorporate microphone modeling technology. With Yamaha's innovative new
Acoustic Microphone Modeling (AMM) guitarists can achieve a more natural
sounding acoustic electric tone without having to spend thousands of dollars

There demo audio tracks sound real nice, but I've never heard it in person.
