Hello, I'm designing some communication system for space communication. I need to use spread spectrum. What are considerations for parameters value? For example: pseudo random sequence length, the period until the pattern start to repeat itself.... Thanks.

It uses diodes. Is 1N914 good diode for Space Shuttle?

The part I'm really worried about is that they retired the Space Shuttle. Are you building your *own* Space Shuttle again? You know what happened the last time you tried to launch an extra-terrestrial vehicle... Do you really want to have *that* happen again? Tsk, tsk, tsk. -- Rick

There is tons of information out there on DSSS and applications. Take a look. _____________________________ Posted through www.DSPRelated.com

- Coding gain / chip rate - PN code: Do you want two (e.g., a Gold code and Walsh code) or just one? (For space, probably just a Gold code.) Length of code, auto/cross-correlation properties of code, code generator polynomial(s). - Carrier freq - Antenna gain

Why do you need to use spread spectrum? If you can find the reason why spread spectrum is required you may find the answers to many of your questions. If there's no reason, then you can choose to do it almost any way. It's unlikely anyone here knows the reason, so it's hard to say what the parameters should be. Is the data rate very low?>On Tuesday, July 16, 2013 9:31:08 PM UTC+3, Eric Jacobsen wrote: >> On Tue, 16 Jul 2013 10:06:54 -0700 (PDT), bezenchu@gmail.com wrote: >> >> >> >> >Hello, >> >> > >> >> >I'm designing some communication system for space communication. >> >> >I need to use spread spectrum. >> >> >What are considerations for parameters value? >> >> >For example: pseudo random sequence length, the period until the pattern start to repeat itself.... >> >> > >> >> >Thanks. >> >> >> >> What class is this for? Thanks.Your questions suggest a basic lack of DSSS knowledge. I suggest you look at two books: Spread Spectrum Communications, vol 1 & vol 2 by Marvin K. Simon, et. al. I'm confused... Does "jacks up" mean improves or messes with? "Jacking up the gain" just means turn it up which is often a good thing. I'm not sure I've heard the term "jack up" in a negative way.
