What app to create drum&bass music

Started by 0 August 10, 2003
HI NG!
I'm not shure whether this is the appropriate group for my question so
please apologise if I'm wrong.
I'm searching a free program (preferrably on linux) which I could use
to make electronic music with, typically drum&bass. Ideally, I'd like
to compose some bass rythm on 4 measures or so and make it loop, and
then add some sound samples on top of it. I don't have the samples but
the sound bank of my sound card should be ok.
Any hints?
Thanks,
Bernd Haller

Go on google and look up: "trackers" "mod editors" "Impulse Tracker" "ModPlug" "Mad Tracker" Most of these programs are freeware and will let you make complete tunes using just your computer. Hmm, I am re-reading your message and I see that you want this for linux. Most of the trackers run on DOS/Windows or Amiga. Well I guess there's always C-Sound. That runs in linux but it's just a bitch to figure out.
