Yes, I am working on an anti-O'Reilly filter for TV.

I kid you not. CNN said that they could not publish it, because the audio quality is too poor. Since I successfully repaired another JFK-related audio clip (with a little help from my friends of comp.dsp), I have been tasked with the chore. -Ramon

I am dead serious, Mark. The whole thing began when I volunteered to perform the restore below. Little did I know the kind of trouble I immersed myself in. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/4plujoj45f7ostm/AADpVecLo7t94UFwMXC4vGLAa?dl=0 (You have there the before and after. The sound from hell begins at minute 1, all the way to the end.) Since then, I became fascinated by the discipline, and it bugs the hell out of me that something so intuitively simple can be almost impossible. IOW: We can place a robotic laboratory in Mars and yet we cannot develop a half decent noise removal algorithm/application!! How can we hear your amazing feat? You will have lots of bragging rights, since I consulted 3 gurus (two who do this for a living, the 3rd. is in charge of Audacity's noise reduction feature) and their response was unanimous: There is little that can be done. -Ramon
