Hi, as mentioned in the subject line, I am looking for a MPEG-2 to MPEG-4 converter, which is implemented in hardware. AFAIK, only software-based solutions are available. Thanks for any help, Herbert

If video, which profiles and levels? What systems layer(s) for MPEG-2? None? Program stream? Transport stream? What part of the MPEG-4 spec is the target? Realtime or not? I know more about MPEG-1 and -2 than -4, so there are probably more issues for MPEG-4. -- Matthew Donadio (m.p.donadio@ieee.org)

Hi Matthew, Unfortunately I do not know any profiles and codecs at the moment. If it helps, the MPEG-2 streams contain digital TV which I want to convert as a single AV-Object into MPEG-4. I want to offer my customers a MPEG-4 based menu so that my customers can select among several TV channels and Video (near) oon-demand streams or games etc. Thanks, best regards, Herbert On Wed, 02 Jul 2003 18:09:03 -0400, Matthew Donadio <m.p.donadio@ieee.org> wrote:>On Thu, 03 Jul 2003 00:33:40 +0200, Herbert Haas wrote: >> as mentioned in the subject line, I am looking for a MPEG-2 to MPEG-4 >> converter, which is implemented in hardware.
