Adaptive Spike Detection & Wavelet Coefficient

Started by rajeevyadav February 12, 2005
Hi Friends,
I am working this area, is there any method you can suggest me to
adaptively detect spikes in biological signals which are
non-stationary and random in nature... a trival method if possible
can you please let me know.
Secondly, how to choose which wavelet decomposition would be
favourable to signals whose dynamics nature is unpredicated.

There is a method presented in the book "Understanding Digital Signal Processing" by R. Lyons (an excellent book to have for many reasons). The simple methods for this usually involve computing some local statistics over a sliding window and setting a threshold. John
