DSP for Image scaling / Maniupation in Real Time

Started by nap March 14, 2005
Hello..

I have been lurking a little here for the last few months and let me say
that I am completely overwhelmed with the capablities and knowledge of
people in this NG. I am an engineering company that provides various
services , including embedded development, for lots of nifty gadgets. I may
need to build an image scaler which can do some format conversion in real
time for a display system. I am wondering if anyone can point me to relevant
documentation on such systems. There is talk of a TI chip being involved in
the design. I am not a DSP guy so I will probably be looking for an entity
to help with parts of this project. Hopefully I will find engineers with the
level of skill that is displayed by many in this NG.

eng@em.

Thanks!

I'm confused. You post a statement which requires no answer -- indeed, a public response might well be inappropriate -- and provide no avenue of private communication. What makes you unhappy? I asked:

"I am wondering if anyone can point me to relevant
documentation on such systems. "

I am not really unhappy. I just thought my question was deemed irrelevant or
to novice for an answer.

There are some stupid answers here, but very few stupid questions. Na&#4294967295;ve questions are ridiculed only by boors, and boors usually depart quickly. Evident homework and questions that Google can easily answer are frowned on, but you don't fit that. Anyhow, you didn't ask a question at all. You seemed instead to be trying to recruit paid help, but provided no way for potential applicants to reach you. What kind of response did you hope to get? Thanks Jerry, once again: "I am wondering if anyone can point me to relevant documentation on such systems. " Or in question form: Can anyone point me to relevant documentation on such systems? I am not recruiting help yet. I merely stated: "Hopefully I will find engineers with the level of skill that is displayed by many in this NG." it was a complement. not a solicitation. As to the response I had hoped to get. A few links or suggestions for image scaling and processing using DSP hardware was really all I was looking for. Trying to be polite in my OP. Thanks. eng@em

Thanks for it, then.

Now that you've made a request, you may get the answers you want. I suppose that a clever reader might have guessed what you wanted, but it's a chore to be clever about lots of things at once. Good luck! There is at least one newsgroup devoted to image processing (an understatement, I'm sure). Your need might best be fulfilled there. ha! That's funny! thanks for the responses, Jerry.
