Not really.

I have seen a wide variety of abilities to just get stuff done, from 
people who are otherwise of very high intellegence.  Being able to not 
only take the bull by the horns, but to wrestle it to the ground, seems 
to not be an intellegence trait as much as a personality one -- and it's 
one that doesn't show well in interviews.

Having somebody on staff who just can't make things happen is often 
worse than not having them around at all, even if you don't count the 
amount of money they're being paid.

Very true.

But how much they were paid was the point I responded to. I've done some 
really neat things in my career. I've also done some awfully ho-hum 
things, where nothing much was demanded of me. The trivial stuff tended 
to bring the greater financial return. I find that really irritating. :-)

Just curious.  What were the really neat things that you have done? and
