Greetings, I am a student from Vienna, Austria and working on my bachelor of arts research project. I am testing the effect of shelf filtering in an specialized surround sound system on the sonic image. ok, you don't have to know what that means :) But i have a problem. I need the FIR filters (because i got a lot of hints that they would work a lot better) in MATLAB format but i never learned DSP. I am more a musician than a scientist, so i would be really glad if someone could help me. i also got some files very similar to the ones i need and i can send it to you, so that you know what i am searching for. I think it shouldn't be that difficult for people involved in things like DSP and stuff. And i have enough time, so i am not in a hurry. I am thankful for every help, but i have to admit, that it would be perfect, if you could be a professional (that would look a lot more serious in my work, although i know that there are a lot of good people who aren't professionals!) thank you again, best from vienna, Hannes

There are sample FIR filters and IIRC a "FIR Filter Wizard" included in that. I am not too certain about the latter so don't quote me on it. If not, you can just google it (http://www.google.ca/search?hl=en&q=MATLAB+FIR+filter&meta=) and there should be tons of examples of it.
