how the delta sigma output is converter to binary form

Started by cmos_189 June 29, 2005
hello
the output of the delta sigma modulator is a series of pulses of 1 and -1
so how does the final output is in the binary(bcd form) form.
what is the role of the integrator in the delta sigma modulator
how does the integrator remove quantization noise

The output of the modulator is low-pass filtered.

The integrator does not remove quantization noise, it just shapes the noise spectrum to put the noise power at as high a frequency as possible. Its the low-pass filter that actually gets rid of the noise. -- ------------------------------------------- Tim Wescott Wescott Design Services http://www.wescottdesign.com
