To all my concerned friends:
I've been out of touch for most of the day, getting word only second
hand. I now have an update from her father.
Izzy is still on a respirator and heavily sedated. She is still in
intensive care, but no longer classified as "critical". Her surgeon
expects "to dance at her wedding".
Her intestine has not yet been reconnected. By Sunday, one severed
section rill be reconnected and a temporary colostomy bag bag installed.
That will last about six weeks, when she will undergo another operation
to be made whole.
This is a time for us to weep for what is, to find joy in what will be,
and relief for what was not. Izzy was rushed to the hospital on foot by
a policeman and her "nanny". She was under care in just under five
minutes. Had it been seven minutes, she would not have lived.
Jerry

Oh Jerry that's wonderful news! I'm sure she has much more to go through but she sounds like a strong little thing. Cudo's to the Nanny and Officer for getting her to the hospital so quickly! Do keep us updated from time to time. *hugs* x Joy "Jerry Avins" <jya@ieee.org> wrote in message news:432236E6.7060505@ieee.org...> To all my concerned friends: > > I've been out of touch for most of the day, getting word only second hand. > I now have an update from her father. > > Izzy is still on a respirator and heavily sedated.
