Jerry, I'm so glad to hear the good news. I read about it in yesterday's news and was stunned to hear it was your granddaughter. I'm praying for the recovery of your entire family. We had the exact same thing happen in our neighborhood in the tranquil suburbs a couple of years ago. The woman who cut the little girl's throat was simply low or off her medication. The woman was hospitalized for about a year and then released back to her home here in our neighborhood. She was supposed to be under constant supervision, but occasionally wandered. After a couple of years of this, she was institutionalized permanently. I don't mean to alarm you unduly, but you should be prepared for an odd sort of justice that doesn't seem to recognize the victim. Janet

That is horrifying. Best wishes for a speedy full recovery for her and all your family. Hopefully she is to young to remember it. Regards Alex

Personally, I don't see punishment as an issue, except perhaps for those who let him run loose. The important outcome is keeping him from perpetrating any more outrages. Exactly my point.
That is truly wonderful news, Jerry. I pray the recovery continues in this
same positive direction.

He will need to be locked up for the rest of his life - without a doubt. There can be no worse crime than deliberately doing that to a baby. Shytot

Great news. I'm sure there was a great big "Whew!" Dimitri
