Hello, Anyone can point me to a source where I can learn how to read and capture video signals from one of those pinpole color camera into a C6711 DSK? Like what type of A/D hardware I need and what the signal scheme is like?

But, I don't generally think of pinhole cameras and video together. I suppose it's because the "exposure" time is long for a pinhole camera and won't support a video frame rate. Unless you have a dynamite sensor! It all gets to what the sensor is anyway. Google results in nothing for pinpole color camera. What you need to reveal is: the video format that's coming out of the camera. NTSC, RGB ....... there are many signal schemes for camera outputs. But, you didn't really say "video" did you? If it's still images you need to capture then the A/D converter board is often referred to as a "frame grabber". Same issue though ... regarding the image format coming out of the camera. Fred

They aren't terribly good in low light, but the "lenses" are very cheap. :-) From http://www.advanced-intelligence.com/video.html: WORLD'S SMALLEST WIRELESS Color VIDEO CAMERA WITH AUDIO !! OK These all seem to be NTSC or PAL - the security industry standards.... Seems to me the easiest thing would be to capture into a PC and go from there. If this is heading to a product then that might be a different matter. I don't know anything about the C6711 DSK except it has an interface to a PC via parallel cable. A big driver in how to do it might be the frame rate you expect to deal with. Fred

Hello, My big question is how does one capture a NTSC signal I guess with a regular ADC. Is there a site online where I can learn about the NTSC video format? Do I have to do any down sampling before I can do the ADC? And then more down sampling and filtering to separate the color signals? Or all of these are done in the frame grabber you mentioned?

Check on ebay. Fred
