well friendz i might be on wrong group but i need help on ..
microcontroller well can any one tell me how i can measure the maximum
frequency on 8051 and upto how much does this processor measure pllzzz

The maximum frequency of what? What sort of signal is it? How are you measuring it? By the way: Newsgroups are not cellphones. You have nearly unlimited amounts of space for luxuries like fully spelled-out words. -- Tim Wescott Wescott Design Services http://www.wescottdesign.com
well tim i have a project about heartbeat monitoring system and i have
to calculate dat how much frequency i can measure from external source
maximum frequency and how would be the minimum frequency i would able
to measure .. well it was not part of the project but i was forced to
calculate all this can ya help me with this i will be very thankful to
ya ..

if any other information ya required i am here :((

thanx any how

O.K., I'm assuming that you have a board with a microprocessor on it which is compatble with the 8051 instruction set : does this particular chip have an inbuilt ADC? if not what are you using and how is it clocked? : what data storage do you have on the board? can you provide the type of microcontroller/processor you are actually using? 8051 is a bit too generic. After that someone who actually knows something about DSP might be able to help ( I hope). Best of Luck - Mike
Another question, are you attempting to measure this signal with an ADC
or a form of (digital) input capture?

Look: we'd like to help, but we have nothing to go by. The 8051 can't monitor anything by itself; you need to hook it up to something that senses what you want to measure and makes an electrical signal out of it. (That's called a transducer.) You need to write a program to use the data from the signal, and you need to know how long that program takes once through. In turn, that depends on the clock speed of your particular 8051 and on the program you write. The way you ask your question is like a kid asking the bus driver, "Where should I get off to go to Grandma's house?" A descriptive subject might help you to get better answers. You might get some hints about asking better questions from http://users.erols.com/jyavins/procfaq.htm. well i am using 8051 to give the signal to the 8051 i am using a led of
1000 milli candels and the these rays can pass through the human body
even and after dat these rays are passed throught LM358AD a comparater
or ya can say A/D then i would give it to the microcontroller.
so first i want to know the capability of the 8051 or the way by which
i can find dat how much external frequency it can measure.
brothers ... reply me soon coz i have very less time.

The maximum external frequency dat da 8051 can measure is 1.225 kHz. Cheers Bhaskar P.S - did you try reading the link that Jerry provided on how to ask questions on comp.dsp?
wel bahaskar i came to know dat ya told me dat 8051 can measure upto
1.22Khz of external frequency ... i am really thankful to ya but ya do
me one more favour to tell me how i can prove dat through an assembly
programe or any documents .. which state dat .. how i can calculate the
result ya have given me .. plzz bhaskar do not mind the way i post ma
message its coz i am new to such community and i will learn from ya
guyzzz thanx ..

take care

well bro i am really thankful to ya

but i want the calculation by which i can get the result ya provided to
me and second tell me or plzzz send me a "C" or assembly programe to
show dat it can only measure upto 1.225Khz.

thanx
