Folks Re: ebay item 8749091151 I received this last week in the UK from Hong Kong. It took only three days to arrive! Early indications are that it seems to work fine on the C6713 DSK with CCS 3.1, although it seems a bit slower than the embedded JTAG DSK emulator. Still, at less than 20% of the cost of the Spectrum Digital USB JTAG Emulator, it's a bargain. Regards, Howard

I worked with a design consultant who purchased on of these ICETEK emulators. You are correct that it cost about 20% of the Spectrum Digital emulator as it was about $400 (US) compared to $2000 for the Spectrum Digital version. After he received the item, I helped him to evaluate it as he was planning on working on a mutual development project with me. We found that the device was slower in response to breakpoints and especially in downloading code to the processor RAM. What is most interesting, however, we were not able to get the device to work with CCS 3.1, that is until we found new drivers for it. We discovered that we were able to download drivers from Blackhawk, who also makes TI DSP emulators. What got my attention, though, is that upon installation and initial use, the Blackhawk drivers recognized the ICETEK emulator as a Blackhawk emulator with BOTH A BLACKHAWK DEVICE AND SERIAL NUMBER! I strongly suspect that these Icetek emulators are a nothing more than a bootleg copy of a Blackhawk emulator that was put into an orange metal box with Icetek written on it.

Here is a "USB 2.0 TI DSP EMULATOR" for less than $600... That's crazy cheap... http://www.gaoengineering.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=23 Has anyone used this one? I need more speed than the Spectrum Digital's XDS510PP-PLUS emulator is giving me. -howy

For c6xxx, for entries appear as "ICETEK USB Emulator for c6...." in the Available Factory Boards, and when you add the c6x1x entry to the system configuration it shows as C62xx,C67xx XDS510 Enulator.
