Hi all, I am interested in Audio/Speech region. Are Audio/Speech use different algorithm? And can you recommend some book on Audio/Speech (I prefer book with Matlab code). Thanks! Best regards, Davy
Please Recommend Book on Audio/Speech

if you are looking for a good book on speech processing I recommend: "Spoken Language Processing" by Xuedong Huang, Alex Acero and Hsiao-Wuen Hon. and "Discrete-Time Processing of Speech Signals" by John R. Deller Jr., John H. L. Hansen and John G. Proakis

The modem speech coding is based on the LPC algorithm in the time domain , multiband algorthim in the frequency domain. LPC based speech codecs are EVRC, QCELP13, AMR series, and ITU-T G.723.1, G.729 series. multiband speech codec are IMBE, and AMBE. The audio coding is based on FFT, MDCT based codec. Sometimes, LPC technology is used for more compression. As you are thinking, Audio and speech technologies sometimes are overlapped. I think these book is helped to understand audio/speech coding to you. " Speech coding" Dr. Kondoz " The speech coding and synthesis", Kleijn. MPEG 1 layer 3 (MP3) standard
