I think that your question is not well-formed. There are positions in the industry where one can continue doing theoretical research without any need to write DSP code. But of course, these positions are not widely available. Now, what kind of position are you looking for? Having more "practicable" skills is always useful, but are you willing to change your studies, and more importantly work in a position that requires you to know it well? Regards, Julius
