WTD: Sound effects and voice

Does anyone here know how the gou'ld voice is created on the Star Gate 
series ?

It's been a few years since I watched it, but if memory serves, it sounded
like a downward pitch-shift for "masculine authority" plus a bit of reverb
for "grandeur".
