I am interested in this topic any good links with intro and/or in depth incursion to the topic or truly good books? (I am a Mathematician, so I don't need any of the basic Math part) ~ A good intro into lossless sound compression of sound I will need as well ~ Thanks lbrtchx

More specific, you would have to explain what you mean by a "good" transform for audio signals.> (I am a > Mathematician, so I don't need any of the basic Math part) > ~ > A good intro into lossless sound compression of sound I will need as > wellPerhaps you find something in the archives of FLAC: http://flac.sourceforge.net/ Regards, Andor

Might be better to ask this question in comp.dsp. In article <1175275661.841092.248050@p77g2000hsh.googlegroups.com>, lbrtchx@hotmail.com wrote:> I am interested in this topic any good links with intro and/or in >depth incursion to the topic or truly good books? 1. Gray and Markels seminal paper on lattice structures for audio which was written in 70s is a very good start point. 2. The IEEE Transactions on Acoustics, Speech and Signal processing esp. pre 1990 is the place where to get the most tractable mathematics of audio compression. 3. Another place to look is the G.726/G.729 Audio coding standards.
