DSP for implementing together the codecs G.722 and H.261

Started by jajo May 11, 2007
Hi,

The topic indicates my question,

I want to develop a H.320 terminal which receives audio/video which
the terminal processes using G.722/H.261 codecs. My question is, which
of the offered DSPs in the market can include both of them taking into
account the price. At this momento I have to candidates DaVinci of TI
and BlackFin of ADI, what else?

Thanx

Every major semiconductor company does have DSPs in their product line. It is mainly a matter of business and politics which one to prefer. As for the H.320, I am pretty sure there should be a specialized chipset for that purpose with all of the functionality already embedded into it. Check with ST, NXP, Cirrus Logic, Infineon and such.
