OT: One of My Non-MIDI, Non-Soundcard, Non-Synth, Music Fantasy.

Started by Radium August 18, 2007
Hi:

Eliminate all vocalizations, kicks, spikes, clicks, snares, hiss,
saxophones, leads and similar instruments by recognizing their
waveforms rather than removing the central channel of a recording.

Current "voice cancellers" work by ridding whatever is identical in
both right and left. This would not eliminate vocals if they were
recorded differently in the right and left channels. I don't want this
at all.

Eliminate the kicks, spikes, clicks, snares, hiss, saxophones, leads
and similar instruments as well.

I would like to eliminate all vocalizations, kicks, spikes, clicks,
snares, hiss, saxophones, leads and similar instruments from my
following CD collection of songs:

1. The Perfect Fan - Backstreet Boys
2. Drowning - Backstreet Boys
3. I Want It That Way - Backstreet Boys
4. Shape of My Heart - Backstreet Boys
5. As Long As You Love Me - Backstreet Boys
6. Chariots of Fire -- Stephen Logaradis
7. The Long Race -- Bruce Hornsby
8. Holiday -- Green Day
9. Boulevard of Broken Dreams -- Green Day
10. American Idiot -- Green Day
11. We Live - Bosson
12. You Opened My Eyes -- Bosson
13. Where Are You - Bosson
14. One In a Million - Bosson
15. Drops of Jupiter - Train
16. Online Songs - Blink 182
17. The Rock Show - Blink 182
18. All The Small Things - Blink 182
19. One More Night - Phil Collins
20. Another Day In Paradise - Phil Collins
21. Can't Stop Loving You -- Phil Collins
22. Distant Early Warning -- Rush
23. Subdivisions -- Rush
24. Lock and Key -- Rush
25. Summer of '69 -- Bryan Adams
26. Right Here Waiting -- Richard Marx
27. Walking Away -- Craig David
28. Jump -- Van Halen
29. Ms. Jackson -- Out Kast
30. The One -- Backstreet Boys
31. Africa -- Toto
32. These Dreams -- Heart

Basically I would like to keep in these songs, only the pianos,
guitars, psychedelic instruments, synth pads and similar instruments.
Then make the volume of the synth pads the loudest and decrease the
pianos and guitars to the point where they can still be heard without
overriding the synth pads.

Here what I would like to with some other types of instruments:

Bass instruments should be separated into a different track. This
track should be high-pass filtered to amplify the high-frequency
components -- and attenuate the low-frequency components -- of the
bass instruments until this track's average frequency is the same as
the average frequency of the track containing non-bass instruments --
i.e. the track containing everything other than the bass instruments.

As for violins, I really enjoy it when a bunch of violins are played
in sync. I don't much like the sound of just one violin playing.

Thanks,

Radium

Go down to the local music store and buy all these songs on Karaoke
CDs... great music tracks that sound just like the originals. You can
play them in your bedroom and sing at the top of your lungs instead of
typing away on usenet groups.

I wish they did.

More importantly, he wouldn't annoy nearly as much people. -- - Maggies are an addiction for life. -

Try this: "Serenity now. Serenity now. I will not get mad. Serenity now, dammit!" (That's from an American TV show. You're forgiven if you don't recognize it.)

It's simple to do. On the back of your CD player there's a wire, usually black in color, about 3 feet long, that ends in two prongs about 1/2" apart. It's often plugged into a mating connector on the wall. To eliminate all vocalizations, kicks, spikes, clicks, snares, snores, snorts, snots, saxophones, sousaphones, francophobes, fronkenstiens, leads, beads, sneeds, screeds and deeds, do NOT plug this wire into a mating connector. It will eliminate these instruments and, as an added bargain, MUCH more. And, while you're at it, do the same with any computer you might have the urge to use.

Not as much as we don't like the sound of one Radium posting, you don't.

What's the story on Radium? Is he just a standard troll? -- Al in St. Lou

Dear me. What octanes of troll are you familiar with? Is it, like, standard, substandard, and exceptional? Or are they standard, irregular, and special-order? Please explain your seemingly bizarre locution. TIA.
