Min MP3 compression ratio

Does MP3 allow uncompressed audio to be stored with 1:1 ratio ?

You should keep in mind that Layer 2 audio performs better at that high bitrates than Layer 3. So in general at 256kbps and above, Mpeg 1 Layer 2 is the better choice. At 384kbps the same applies to Layer 2 versus Layer 1. The latter is nearly lossless in the most cases. Marcel
