CLKOUT pin and power dissipation - ADSP2181

Hi,
Why should the CLKOUT pin in ADSP2181 may also be disabled to reduce
external power dissipation ? How does it contribute to power
dissipation ?

Without looking at the ADSP2181 datasheet, I think I can safely say that power is reduced because you have one less output driver active. The power dissipated by the CLKOUT pin would depend mainly upon the capacitive load (i=c*dv/dt) that it's driving. Darol Klawetter
