how to use McBsp (dsp only)OMAP5912

hi,
i am trying to use any dsp public peripheral(ex. McBsp1),in a DSP only
configuration on OSK5912.
but when ever i am loading my application, getting error like " can not
run target CPU - processor timed out- reset emulator ".
but applications with out using peripherals, is working fine.

now my main doubt is can i use even dsp public peripherals also with out
the intervention of GPP.

can any one suggest me regarding this.

It has TMS320C55x and DSP stuffs are very similar to it w.r.t DSP
part.
What do you perform in the initialisation code ?
How do you boot up ?
How have you configured the interrupts ?
What is the memor mapping ?

These can help to find the location of problem.
