Lord, spare me! :-) Jerry -- Engineering is the art of making what you want from things you can get. &#4294967295;&#4294967295;&#4294967295;&#4294967295;&#4294967295;&#4294967295;&#4294967295;&#4294967295;&#4294967295;&#4294967295;&#4294967295;&#4294967295;&#4294967295;&#4294967295;&#4294967295;&#4294967295;&#4294967295;&#4294967295;&#4294967295;&#4294967295;&#4294967295;&#4294967295;&#4294967295;&#4294967295;&#4294967295;&#4294967295;&#4294967295;&#4294967295;&#4294967295;&#4294967295;&#4294967295;&#4294967295;&#4294967295;&#4294967295;&#4294967295;&#4294967295;&#4294967295;&#4294967295;&#4294967295;&#4294967295;&#4294967295;&#4294967295;&#4294967295;&#4294967295;&#4294967295;&#4294967295;&#4294967295;&#4294967295;&#4294967295;&#4294967295;&#4294967295;&#4294967295;&#4294967295;&#4294967295;&#4294967295;&#4294967295;&#4294967295;&#4294967295;&#4294967295;&#4294967295;&#4294967295;&#4294967295;&#4294967295;&#4294967295;&#4294967295;&#4294967295;&#4294967295;&#4294967295;&#4294967295;&#4294967295;&#4294967295;

Hi Dirk, National Engineering Week! I hadn't heard about this. I wonder if any radio announcers, around the country, have mentioned this. Or are they too involved in reporting the petty bickering of the lying political candidates, who's winning on American Idol, and sterioids in baseball. :-) [-Rick-]

Local TV news had a related story. Local engineering group sponsored a day for kids to attempt to solve "engineering problems". It involved building bridges. It looked as though the younger kids were building with cardboard tubes used to roll paper towels on. The older were using some sort of simulation software. The shot showed a train crossing the bridge and it collapsing. The graphics were good enough that I suspect being designed to be used with kids to attract their interest. The sponsors rep said purpose was to attract kids early to science and math.

Hi Rick, I saw it in the IEEE Washington Section newsletter a few weeks ago. If you go to http://www.ieee.org there is a link 'Celebrate Engineers Week 17 - 23 February'. I plan to celebrate by going to work. How about you? Dirk

hey, maybe we can get the Bush Administration (a.k.a. "The Abomination") to do to engineering what they do to science http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/discussion/2006/01/13/DI2006011300765.html hey, if we need another tax give-away to the top 2%, there really isn't any need to check out the nation's bridges: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:35wBridgecollapse.gif http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1x-ckRu5jEY or nation's levees: http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=5022074 GW Bush: the most successful presidency in American history. hell, not just American history, he's the most successful American president in *World* history. in the history of the universe. r b-j

Hi Everybody, My mate, Roopnath (soon CS Guru), tells me 'pretty bland women' is not right, it is 'pretty blond women'. Seems 'bland' is not so good. So I stand myself corrected. And Roop says I could make much money by 'Taxing the Patients' of Jerry and Robert Borat-Johnson (aka r-bj). (joke) ( : Please people tell me about celebrations. Where do you get bead strings to throw for celebration? Regards, Kamar Ruptan DSP Guru
