Hardware Required

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone could tell me what type of DSP i would need for
a basic voice recognition system. The system would you a matched filter of
1000 samples and can have a sampling frequency of anywhere from 2200 toi
22050 Hz. Also the samples have a resolution of 16 bits. I'm confused on
what sort of spec it would require e.g. in MIPS or MFLOPS. Any help would
be very much apprieciated.

Thanks

I'm not trying to be flippant, but what software do you have for this task? Clay

Taking the assumption that you are interested in learning and evaluation, and given you state you need a basic voice recognition system, could I suggest an inexpensive way could be to use the dsPIC30F speech recognition library (Evaluation version is available for $5). With a few inexpensive suitable demonstration boards available (dsPICDEM), http://ww1.microchip.com/downloads/en/DeviceDoc/dsPIC_Speech_Recognition_User_Guide_70140a.pdf Tim
