help reading images

Hi I am new to image processing using embedded systems i am starting with
code composer studio 4.0 simulation on target C64X

i want to know if there are API for reading bmp / jpg images in code
composer studio from the
( OR simillar to CxImage libraries used in windows visual studio) .

or Images are read using fopen and removing the headers manually (bmp and
raw images)

can someone post a sample code for reading an image will be of great help to
me

CxImage is free and open source and should be usable in any compiler which supports C++ standard. For more help:
