tiff images to lossless jpeg

Started by anujack_21 November 25, 2003
Hi all,

I would like to convert my tif image to lossless jpeg. Can any one
suggest me a way to do it in matlab or otherwise?? The tiff image
that needs to be converted is 16 bits/pixel and is about 35MB.

If not lossless jpeg can it be converted to a pnm image without any
loss??

I tried imwrite for jpeg and pnm, but did not work.

I would really appreciate if anyone can help me out with this problem
at the earliest.

Thanks
Anuradha Agatheeswaran

at the earliest?

If you are on Linux, try convert (ImageMagick).

If you are on Windows, try Linux ;-)

otherwise, why not just saving it as jpeg from Matlab? Maybe I did not
understand what was lossless jpg.

Luck!

Hi,
The level of the jpeg can be set using the print
command.
