OFDM orthogonality

Started by Diana Knight March 30, 2005

Dear All;
I want to plot orthogonality between sub-carriers with Matlab for five or more than five sub-carriers.If anyone have a code to plot orthogonality between sub-carriers Could you supply it to me?
I look forward to your reply.
Kind Regards.

Hi Diana,

Maybe you need to look at *why* the subcarriers are
orthogonal, in the first place.

Why are the subcarriers orthogonal? Because they're
all sine functions of the form sin(2*pi*k*n/N), k
being the subcarrier number, and n (discrete) time.

Should be simple to write a few lines to plot that, I
guess.

I would also recommend that you try and write down
what happens to your signal at the transmitter in
matrix form. That should also help you find an easy
way to show that the subcarriers are orthogonal.

Search around in this NG, the question has been
addressed before.

HTH,
Karthik.
