I was under the impression that Metroworks was the only game in town for developing software and debugging the 56F803. I tried it out, but was so disappointed with the number of bugs I found in the tools, I gave up on it and switched to another processor. Was I wrong? Does "Tasking" make tools that are compatible with this processor? Do they work? Thanks Greg Toman |

The Tasking tools target the Motorola 560xx, 563xx, and 566xx families of 24-bit DSPs, and, to my knowledge, do not support the 568xx family. Tasking's debugger product is called "CrossView Pro DSP56xxx Debugger" which is probably misleading. This may come as a surprise to some, but Motorola does have more DSPs in their portfolio than just the 56800 Family. The 56300 Family is another very widely used Family of Motorola DSPs. The Tasking software name was derived long before the 56800 Family existed back in the days of the now end-of-life 56000 Family.
