Hi. I'm trying to discern which (if any) IDE to get for Mot DSP56367 dev. I want to debug on my target HW (not an eval board) using the JTAG port. Does anyone know which product can do this? Thanks |

DSP56367 HW debugger over JTAG?

You will basically need a hardware emulator and a software debugger to debug your target using JTAG. I use the Motorola Suite56 Parallel Command Converter hardware between my PC's LPT port and the JTAG port on the target. (There's also a PCI version but I haven't used it.) This hardware is inexpensive (~$200.) and works with Tasking's CrossView Pro DSP563xx Debugger software (not to be confused with the CrossView Pro Simulator that is bundled with the C compiler). There's also the MacCraigor Wiggler that is essentially the same thing ($150.) but I haven't used it. I think you have another debugging option in Mot Suite56 toolset, but I have not used it in a long while and could not give you current info. You can also use the hardware emulators/ software debuggers from Domain Technologies. As far as IDE, I'm using Tasking C tools, based on the Codewright IDE. Motorola offers the Suite56 set of tools (free) but I haven't used them in a while. --- In , "wdawson61" <wdawson61@y...> wrote: > Hi.
