assembly language for mc56f8013

Started by haoyeshen November 7, 2005
Hi:

I developed a application based on DSP56F802 by using the processor
expert. In my application, I used both C and Assembly language. Due to
some reasons, I need to change my processor from DSP56F802 to
MC56F8013. When I used the new metrowerks (V7.2) with my old code, it
seems that all the assembly code can not be recognized by the new IDE.
I am wondering if anyone could shine me a light of how to convert my
old code to the new platform. Thanks in advance.

802 is based on 56800 core and 56F8013 is based on
56800E core ( enhanced core). So some MOVE
instructions are different between two cores. 56800 is
pure 16bit core. But 56F800E can perform 32bit
operations with large address range.

Hi,
Iam developing a motor control application using
56F8013.Iam using the complimentary PWM chanels of
this processor driving a buffer.
Whenever iam using the JTAG to perform the code
download both the complimentary IO signals are going
high during the code download time causing the both
the top and bottom FET to conduct.Any advice ?
Regards,
Prasanna

Data sheet says the all I/O pins are configurd as
input pin with internal pull up enable during reset (
includes code downloading), except JTAG pins and Reset
pin. To avoid both top and bottom are conducted during
the code download, add the external 4.7K pull-down
resistor on each PWM pin will help.
