Announce: Small C and Assembler (DSP56800) for Linux

Started by Pete Gray November 18, 2002
I've ported the Small C cross-compiler and the Assembler to Linux.
Downloads (and a screenshot) of the Linux port are available from my
website, as well as the DOS version. I'll be busy merging the DOS and
Linux code trees over the next few days, to achieve a single source.
I'll respond to other questions/emails after that.
Regards,
-Pete.

p.s. David D. - That's great news about the DSP56F805EVM - thanks!

Thanks very much, Pete, I also have Small C working on a DSP56F805EVM module. I
am testing Small C for DSP56800 to see how efficient the compiler is at
generating object code. If it is more efficient than CodeWarrior's compiler
(and I don't see how it could possibly be worse), it could solve some of our
"out of memory" problems on a very big project we have here.

I'm also planning to spend some of my own time here at work (before regular
working hours), to add a "Pointer to P Memory" type, which would greatly reduce
the program memory size and execution time of our programs. If and when I get
it working, I will post a message with the source code on this discussion group.

Thanks again,
