Ianu, I'm not sure if you are using the Embedded SDK or not, so I'm just going to assume for now that you aren't and all you have is CodeWarrior. Anyways, if you have R5.0.2 (which corresponds to IDE v 4.2.6.922 in the Help-->About Metrowerks CodeWarrior), here's the quickest way to get up and running on your DSP56F801 (I assume you either have the DSP56F801EVM or you have a target board with a DSP56F801 and a JTAG port). First, you need to make sure that your hardware is setup such that you can debug. If you have a DSP56F801EVM this means that jumper JG5 has to: A) have no jumper connected if you plan to use the on-board parallel port header interface to debug. B) have a jumper connected if you plan to use the 14-pin JTAG header to debug via a Parallel Port Command Converter. If you have your own target board, you just need to make sure it has a 14-pin JTAG header and have a Parallel Port Command Converter to connect between your parallel cable and the JTAG header. Anyways, once this is done: 1) Goto File --> New 2) Select DSP56800 EABI Stationery and give the project name, then hit OK 3) Select "M56801" and hit OK 4) Make the project by hitting the Make button 5) Connect to the target board by hitting the Debug button. You should then have a debugger window pop up and you have now successfully downloaded to the DSP56F801. The DSP56F801 has no external memory interface so there is only one target "flash pxROM w/int xRAM" to select from on the M56801 stationery. Hope this info helps!
