I use matrices. But I don't know if there's an "official" spelling, or
what it is. Wiktionary gives both spellings for the plural.
Use what you want, and, optionally, look down your nose at anyone who's
different. (If you want to seem knowledgeable you'll need to know
whether you're looking down your nose at them for being an ignoramus or a
snob, though).
