Analog Computers

Analog filters are inherently ``physical'' since voltages and currents are direct ``analogs'' for physical variables such as force and velocity. So-called ``analog computers'' were often used for physical system simulation before digital computers took over.

He is presently Professor of Music and Associate Professor (by courtesy) of Electrical Engineering at Stanford's Center for Computer Research in Music and Acoustics (CCRMA), teaching courses and pursuing research related to signal processing applied to music and audio systems.
