Re: How to separate these orthogonal inputs

Let's take this back to linear algebra basics. Suppose we have two orthonormal vectors x and y. Then we form the vector z = ax + by, where a and b are complex...

For LTE SRS, there are 8* possible cyclic shifts, which means the SRS are orthogonal over sub-lengths of 8 subcarriers. So for separating overlapping SRS's out for...
A detailed derivation from ML first principles can be found in the book Synchronization Techniques for Digital Receivers by Mengali and D'Andrea. Specifically, sections...

That is fascinating! Thanks for sharing. I wish I knew more people like you with the experience and knowledge of these "industry" designs and clever tricks that...

Thanks for your thoughts and the linked presentation. PS I've always enjoyed your blog posts and have made use of your CW frequency estimator in the past!
Yes, the taps are the same. Perhaps what is meant by "new" is that it runs at a different rate, and so has a different bandwidth (half) relative to the original input...

Timing Recovery Loop Filter Rate

Many symbol timing control loop structures consist of TED -> loop filter - >NCO -> Interpolation. The TED is updated once per symbol, but the NCO is driven...

So what is your goal then? To estimate the parameters of your harmonics, to rid your signal of your harmonics, or to suppress the leakage effects of your harmonics?...

The comment you linked is correct and is in agreement with what I said. The model we have for AWGN (whether Johnson or otherwise) is that it has a flat spectral...

Johnson noise is just one of the many sources of AWGN, and it is no different than AWGN. It has a flat spectral density just like AWGN (technically at extremely...

Estimating SNR without windowing

New thread started 7 years ago
I've come across several wonderful algorithms for estimating the parameters of a complex tone in noise (ex. Macleod, Jacobsen, Flat Top window, etc), that I've simulated...
